What I Wish I Knew About 2 Under 2
Happy mothering, Haylee xo https:/
My son has just turned one, and as I reflect on the year that has passed, here are seven things I wish I had known about being a parent of two children, under two.
You will miss your firstborn "like your left arm that's been lost in the war" - to paraphrase a favourite song.
You will feel guilty about this. Then you will feel guilty about feeling guilty. There will be so much guilt!
Despite the often thrown around "second child syndrome", you will be a better parent the second time around. You'll feel guilty about that too.
Firsts will be measured differently. Forget the first word; what about the first time your children made each other laugh? Truly magic.
Siblings don't necessarily bond straight away. And that's ok.
It's hard not to compare, but try to resist. Each child has their own unique personality.
There will be some bad days. There will be a lot of mediocre days. But there will be a lot of good days too. And those days will make them all worthwhile.
