3. Meet and Greet

Once you have a shortlist of potential nannies, schedule a time for each one to come and meet the rest of you family, including the child the nanny will be watching. A meet and greet is the perfect time to observe how the potential nanny interacts with your child and vice versa. If your child is old enough, ask his or her opinion on the nanny. You can also pay the nanny to watch your child for one evening before making an offer for long-term work.
